Outdoor learning & Parndon Wood

We managed and funded Parndon Wood Nature Reserve for over a decade. During that time, we welcomed local schools for visits where children could explore the woods and learn about wildlife.

Learning beyond the classroom

Activities included pond dipping, bug hunts, nature walks, birdwatching, den building, natural arts and crafts, bird feeders and wildlife quizzes. The visits gave children a chance to get outdoors and learn about the wildlife around them.

Our work today

ECCO’s management of Parndon Wood is part of our past work. We continue to support outdoor learning through the Environmental Fund, including forest schools, allotments and growing projects.
